Second Life: IBM 12 islands complex

Alan, who acted as a host, guided us through some of the key spots:
He also shows us how to take the train tour, who flies around the IBM complex:
And surprise! After the tour, I discovered an IBM System 360 replica:
I think this kind of initiatives has an enormous potential, despite some negative commentary about the early of this technology. Related to the financial sector (the one where I’m actually working on), I hope we will see in brief some bank branch offices openings, as the ABN AMRO branch opening.
TSS Article: Eclipse, Equinox and OSGi
There is a new article at The Server Side about Eclipse, Equinox and OSGi which briefly describe what is OSGi and its implementation at the Eclipse Equinox Project. The authors are Jeff McAffer, who actually leads the Eclipse Equinox OSGi, RCP and Orbit teams, and Simon Kaegi, from Cognos.
I met Jeff at the EclipseCon 2005, and with Jean-Michel Lemieux (a committer on the Eclipse Team/CVS), they gave me some valuable advices about the use of Eclipse RCP at financial applications, especially on branch teller applications. They both published a book titled Eclipse Rich Client Platform.
